Join Daniel Hope for monthly posts on his new album 'For Seasons' in which he unites his first recording of Vivaldi’s 'Four Seasons' with works spanning acclaimed neo-classical pieces by Aphex Twin, Nils Frahm, Max Richter and Chilly Gonzales to romantic pieces by Brahms and Schumann in a compelling new reflection on time’s passing. There 12 such pieces arranged for the violin - one for every month of the year and in each video Daniel comments on the creative relationship between music, art and the ever-changing calendar - month by month.

Four Seasons - Summer 3

The first "half" of Daniel Hope's For Seasons album is his first recording of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. To the music of the 3rd movement of the Summer concerto listen to Daniel explaining why he decided to pair this music with four charcoal drawings by the artist Dirk Dzimirsky.

Rameau / Danse des Sauvages

May's track is the spritual Amazing Grace in an arrangement, actually more exactly, an improvisation between Daniel Hope and Dom Bouffard. The music is paired with a painting of a ship by the german artist Robert Rau - since, as Daniel explains, the story of behind Amazing Grace is about a shipwreck.
